Amaretto Disaronno is as common as table salt in every Italian household, a sweet, velvety amaretto liqueur that has as many uses as the aforementioned salt. Best described as sweetly almond-flavoured, amaretto actually comes from the pit of an apricot, to which is added the pure essence of 17 selected herbs and fruits. This classic can be served a million ways, from on the rocks to a dash in coffee, mixed with cola, or shaken up into a variety of fizzy, frothy cocktails.
