Church Vineyard is a stunningly beautiful place, home to an 18th Century replica Pennsylvanian church. John initially farmed this land in 2002 then leased the land to grow his own fruit in 2006 and purchased the property in 2018.
It is an elegant vineyard just north of Napa surrounded by eucalyptus trees and is home to the Cranes, his wife Michele’s family.
"From our Twisted Oak hillside vineyard and neighbouring vineyards on the valley floor. Dark briar fruit, spiced pie crust, and crushed gravel aromatics confirm its continued refinement even from the last vintage. Macerated red and blackberries, ripe fig, caramel flan, and dried potpourri showcase round fruit and notable spice. The wine is both strong and supple in its tannins with a distinctly acidic backbone that gives way to a lengthy finish."
